- A "Kirwa" or also "Kirchweih" is a religious fest honouring the consecration of the (respective) church. It's usually accompanied by a parade from or to the church, a festive church service, and a beer tent and food and drinks in the afternoon. No musical entertainment or fun rides, though!
- A "Vendors Fest" indicates that the fest has been organized by local vendors who are trying to attract more customers with special sales, entertainment, and food and beverages.
- The "Volksfest", finally, is a travelling fun fair with fun rides, raffles, a beer tent, and a fireworks display towards the end of the Volksfest.
